Dark Sky Day was a mini festival designed and developed as a bespoke concept for Vordingborg Municipality consisting of a series of curated darkness experiences.

The event re-invented the Dark Sky brand, an international certification given to the islands of Møn & Nyord acknowledging their effort to protect the night sky and fight light pollution.

Dark Sky Day took place at an old sugar factory at the edge of a UNESCO biosphere reserve, fusing light culture with industrial history and biosphere conservation.

Through a series of events Kaleidoskop invited the local community to venture into the darkness to pursue the human connection to nature — and to themselves. The program entailed explorative darkness walks, sensorial concerts, pod walks and more.
